In addition to our database subscription to the New York Times, the library has acquired a site license for New York Times - Academic Pass. Academic Pass provides access to NYT web content, including:

  • TimesMachine, a browser-based digital replica of all issues from 1851 to 2002
  • Podcasts, such as The Daily podcast 
  • Newsletters, such as Well, Climate Forward, and In Her Words
  • Live Events, conversations with inspiring personalities
  • Spanish and Mandarin Chinese versions of the NYT
  • NYT News App for iOS and Android
  • NYT Audio App for iOS

To register, visit our New York Times - Academic Pass page and follow the prompts, or:

Step 1: Navigate to accessnyt.com  Step 2: Search for and click the listing for “SUNY- Empire State University – Saratoga Springs, NY ” Step 3: Click Create Account and complete the registration fields  

Existing New York Times ID? If you have previously registered your email address on The New York Times site, you will click the "Already have an account?" "Log in here" link (below the "Create Account" button)

Once registered, faculty/staff have 4 years of full account access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting accessnyt.com. Students have access until 12/31 of the graduation year they choose.
